About this Blog
As I just mentioned above, I graduated from college with the intent to go into teaching. Instead, I have begun the process of becoming an FSO. This blog will hopefully chronicle my time as a Wannabe Diplomat first in the application process, then (hopefully) as a sworn-in FSO on assignments.
Regarding the title of this blog: I am a graduate of Iowa State University. ISU's admissions marketing campaign is "Choose your Adventure" and while at Iowa State, I was enrolled as a History major in the University Teacher Education Program (UTEP). Upon admission to UTEP, they sent me a packet of information which included a sheet of personalized business cards with my job title as "Wannabe Teacher." While I was student teaching, I chose to blog for my friends and family, that blog was titled, "A Wannabe Teacher's Adventure," thus combining these two phrases. For this blog, as I am starting my adventure to become an FSO, I consider myself a "Wannabe Diplomat," thus "A Wannabe Diplomat's Adventures."

P.S. For those who don't know, the U.S. Embassy to the Holy See (Vatican) is just behind the camera in the picture above.
